Here is the fifth of 10 blog posts on using Hootsuite to become a Twitter power user.

Step 5. Using Hootsuite Search
Like any search, you can use Hootsuite’s search function to find Tweets and users that interest you. However, Hootsuite search also offers powerful ways to keep up to date with your favorite Twitter topics and users.

To the right of your columns is a search box. A pull-down menu lets you load a trending topic search right away. Alternatively you can enter your own search term. With one click you can create a new column (click “Save as Column”) to add the search results to the dashboard, allowing you to keep constant track of all the search term’s mentions on Twitter.
